What's the School of Communication all about?

Students at Blue Jackets press conference

It's about tapping the full potential of how people share information – in print, electronically and face-to-face – and understanding what makes communication effective...or ineffective.

It's about the power of words and the impact of images. The verbal and the non-verbal. It's about theory. It's about practice. And it's about putting theory into practice.

It's about acquiring the expertise to understand purpose, discern motives, and interpret outcomes in today's information-driven society.

But on a more practical level, it's about learning how to effectively navigate your professional and personal life in a content-rich world, regardless if you're the messenger or the recipient.

The School of Communication is about equipping students of today with communication skill sets that will make them highly effective communicators and leaders of tomorrow.
