SBS Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowships Program

The Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowship Program supports promising scholars who are committed to diversity in the academy and to prepare those scholars to enter tenure track faculty positions. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who are members of groups that historically have been underrepresented in the American professoriate. Fellows will be affiliated with one of the eight academic units of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences: Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Communication, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Speech and Hearing Science. Download the full details.

Important Announcement: The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Awarded $309,500 to Support Efforts in Diversity

SBS was awarded a $309,500 three-year grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to increase the number of African American, Hispanic, and Native Americans who apply to, matriculate, and graduate from SBS doctoral programs; to enhance and develop strategies to achieve this goal; and to identify successful strategies and publish this knowledge so that other institutions can join in the effort to increase diversity in academia. SBS Establishes Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

• Ohio State ranks among the 50 best colleges and universities for African Americans (Black Enterprise)
• Ohio State has earned first-year retention rate of 88.1 percent among all African American students.
• Among all colleges and universities in the nation, Ohio State is among the top 5 percent in granting doctoral degrees and top 3% in granting masters degrees to minorities in the social sciences.
