Ohio State University Honors Randy Hodson with 2007 Distinguished Scholar Award

The Ohio State University Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes exceptional scholarly accomplishments by senior professors who have compiled a substantial body of research, as well as the work of younger faculty who have demonstrated great scholarly potential.

Randy Hodson, Professor, Sociology
Randy Hodson is one of the nation's leading scholars studying workplace relations. His research has provided new insights into the role of organizational characteristics and management behavior in shaping workplace relations. Hodson is one of the most cited social scientists at Ohio State and his upper-division textbook on the sociology of work has helped define the field for a generation of students and educators. Hodson obtained his undergraduate degree at Wyoming (1975). He earned his master's (1977) and his Ph.D. (1980) from Wisconsin. Hodson became a member of Ohio State's faculty in 1996.
